Music

The art or science of combining vocal or intrumental sounds (or both) to produce beauty of  form, harmony and expression of emotion.

The evolutionary origin of music began in the second half of the 19th century , and was much debated within music archaeology in the 20th century and still the origin of music is based on many suggestions.
Technological advances in the 20th century enabled composers to use electronic means of producing sound.
After the second world war , magnetic tape became available for the creation of music by recording sounds and then manipulating them in some way. When the source material was acoustical sounds from the evryday world, the term "Musique Concrete" was used, when the sounds were produced by electronic generators, it was designated "Electronic Music". After the 1950's the term electronic music came to be used for both types.
Between the 1975 and 1990 computer technology had come to place, making electronic music systems affordable and widely used. The personal computer had become a major tool of the electronic musicians equipment much superseding the analogue synthesizers.
21th century classic music is a diverse art form. Some elements of the previous century have been retained but there is a growing move towards  Electricticism, Post-Modernism and Polystylism, which merges elements of all style of music e.g Pop, Hip Hop, Rock, Jazz and others.
The internet as a related technology are important resources in this respect.
